We LOVE felt! Our 100% wool design felt is made to extremely high standards in Germany and dyed using environmentally friendly, non-toxic textile dyes. It’s also a sustainable and completely recyclable product. B&M Felt is perfect for craft, sewing, fashion, furniture and industrial applications. B&M Felt is available in thicknesses of 2mm, 3mm and 5mm.

Using our felt

To cut the felt the best bet, and our preference, is a decent scalpel blade or stanley knife from a hardware store, and use a steel ruler for a perfect straight line. Curves are a bit trickier. Either draw out your shape onto the felt first using a fabric texta, then cut it carefully by hand, or trace around an object, like a dinner plate or cup.

You could also get a die cutting factory to cut it out for you, at a price, they’ll either make a die with a blade on it and cut it out using a press-cut machine, or use a computer guided knife. Just look up ‘die cutting’ in the Yellow Pages and say you want to cut 2/3mm wool felt.

Of course you can always use scissors, but we strongly recommend investing in a really good pair of craft scissors, they make the world of difference.

Colours

Our felt begins life as one of three natural, undyed colours; 100 White Wool, 150 Cloud and 190 Natural. These colours are suitable for dying at home. Our colours are then produced using a range of non-toxic textile dyes.
